Cathy Carter lives with her family on a farm in Smithville. Ontario. She has had a life-long love of animals and a passion for horses. At a early age, she began drawing, using her pets as subjects. Pastels became her medium of choice, as it best captures the sheen on a horse's coat or the glisten in a puppy's soulful gaze. She pays close attention to detail, and works diligently to capture the character and expression of each individual.

          As well as receiving many awards, Cathy's work has appeared on magazine covers, been used as awards, gifts, and treasured mementos. Ducks Unlimited Canada has selected originals to be reproduced as limited edition prints. Originals and prints hang in galleries and private homes across Canada and throughout the United States. The number of referrals and repeat customers is a testimony of her realistic portrayals. A satisfied client is the best advertisement. Only a limited number of originals may be completed each year, so commission yours early to avoid disappointment. Recently, Cathy has begun teaching pastel drawing in her home.
